Why Is Mold Growing In My Bathroom?
You can't seem to clean it up fast enough and the toxic
mold keeps growing back and you're wondering, when is it ever going to
stop. Well I've got some good and some bad news for you. Let me give you
the bad news first.
The bad news is, if mold is growing behind something that you don't have
access to, you might as well make friends with it, because it's going to
be there, until you can access the area where the mold is growing from.
I have seen mold underneath flooring, behind tile, behind bathtub and
showers enclosures, underneath toilets, bathroom cabinets, sinks,
mirrors, drywall, plaster, light fixtures, bathtubs, showers and even
underneath paint. It doesn't seem like there's any place in your
bathroom that toxic mold doesn't enjoy growing on.
Unless you're prepared to start remodeling your bathroom, the best
suggestion that I can give you, would be to keep your bathroom as clean
as possible and as dry as possible. Mold likes moisture and dark areas
and you might not be able to do anything about the dark areas in your
bathroom, but you can keep these areas as dry as possible.
You can buy cleansers that deal specifically with mold and mildew from
your local grocery store, hardware store or home improvement center. I
can't recommend, one of these products, but regular household bleach
seems to work pretty good.
If you have mold growing in your bathroom, remember that you're not the
only person with this problem and you could be fighting it for a long
time. Now it's time for the good news, If you have mold, it's getting
moisture from somewhere and I would suggest contacting a bathroom
remodeling contractor, when you finally get tired of dealing with the
problem.
