Who Is In Charge God Or The Building Department?
If you're in church, there's a good chance that God will
be in charge of anything that happens in your life, but when you're
building a home and you need to deal with the building Department, make
no mistake there's only one person in charge and it isn't God.
Some building departments can make your life a living nightmare, while
others seem to make every possible effort to make the process as smooth
as possible. I don't know how it was when God created the world or how
difficult it was for God to construct this planet, but the building
department seems to have a more difficult time with building permits and
home construction.
I don't know how the building departments got so powerful, but we've
gotten to the point where we can't even change out water heaters or
build certain size fences without having a building inspector glance at
the project after it is completed.
I was just looking at a list of services that require building permits
from a local city that I was planning on doing some remodeling work in.
I couldn't believe that the city required permits for so many different
types of small remodeling or construction projects.
All I can really say about the building department is this, they're in
charge and God isn't, especially when it comes to remodeling, home
repairs or even new home construction and you better not forget it. If
you're nice to them, there's a good chance that they will be helpful and
friendly with you.
No matter what you think of the building department, just keep this in
mind, you might not work for them, but they can often create more work
for you, especially if you're not going to remember who's actually in
charge.
