Think Twice Before Removing Your Medicine Cabinets
I would say that more than half of the people that I give
bathroom remodeling estimates to want to remove their medicine cabinet.
I can usually talk them out of it, but some of them are so dead set in
their way of thinking, that I can't do anything about it.
If you really want to remove your bathroom medicine cabinet, knock
yourself out. If you have to do it, for whatever reason, you don't need
to justify it to your bathroom remodeling contractor. However, I would
like you to think about the items that you currently have inside of your
medicine cabinet.
Look at these items and try to figure out where you're going to place
them, once you remove your medicine cabinet. This is usually where I
change people's minds, who haven't thought twice about removing them.
Most people don't think about storage problems in bathrooms until the
bathroom has been remodeled and by then it's usually too late.
Just because you know someone who doesn't have a medicine cabinet and
tells you how wonderful it is not to have one, doesn't mean that you
don't need one. Bathroom storage creates big problems for remodeling
contractors who understand the whole process.
If your bathroom remodeling contractor makes a suggestion like this to
you, I would like you to at least think twice about it. Experienced
bathroom remodeling contractors usually have pretty good ideas and I
suggest that you listen to them.
