Take As Many Pictures As You Can - Homeowners
What if I could tell you a secret that some contractors
know about, but it seems like most homeowners never do? What if I told
you something that could save you thousands of dollars in home repairs,
litigation and insurance problems, in the future? I think I have your
attention, don't I.
I'm talking about a simple picture, take some pictures of your home and
store them somewhere. It's that simple. Professionals are using cameras
more now than ever before, because pictures save these people money.
Some of these pictures, will prevent other ruthless professionals from
taking another professional to court. In court costs money.
A picture is worth a thousand words and some of these pictures are worth
thousands of dollars. If you have a movie camera, I would suggest that
you take movies of all your possessions, just in case they are ever
lost, stolen or destroyed by natural disaster.
I would consider myself an experienced contractor and I take pictures,
everywhere. Whenever I go out on an estimate, I take as many pictures of
the project as I possibly can. Even if I'm only looking at the kitchen,
I also take pictures of the outside of the home. Sometimes, pictures
like these can help the interior designer and other contractors, make
decisions about other things that could be important to the remodeling
project.
If you have a digital camera, there is a good chance that you could
photograph everything in your home in less than an hour. You should do
this at least twice a year or in other words, every six months. It's not
going to cost you anything, but it could save you plenty if there were
ever any problems in the future.
I would advise you to store some of these pictures at your work or at a
trusted friend's home, just in case something ever happened to your
home.
