What Are The Pros And Cons Of Using Cement Fiberboard Siding?
Cement fiberboard siding hasn't been around long enough
to really find out, whether it is or isn't a really good product. I have
only been using this product for less than 10 years. When I first
started using the product, you needed to have a special saw blade and it
seemed to be brittle and easy to break.
They seem to have improved the product a little bit, but that is just my
opinion. Since then I have installed this product on quite a few homes
and haven't had any problems yet. My personal opinion about cement
fiberboard siding, is that, I think it's a very good product and will
continue recommending it to other homeowners, that I will be working for
in the future.
I would like to share something else about this product. It seems like
it would hold up well in almost every weather condition. Whether it's
too cold or too hot, this product seems to weather the storm.
The only real problem I have with this product, is that it is just a
little bit bigger than a quarter of an inch thick and if it isn't stored
properly, it can start to warp. With this in mind, you might not notice
the wavy siding on small sections of your house.
However, walls that are longer than 16 feet might have noticeable
warping. The warped siding can give the homeowner the illusion that the
contractor has installed the product incorrectly or over an uneven
surface.
It's not as noticeable, if you're standing away from the home at a
distance, but if you're looking at the home closely, you will notice the
wavy pattern from the cement fiberboard siding.
The product seems to have more advantages and disadvantages and as a
contractor with over 30 years of building experience, I would recommend
this product to anyone.
