Internet Marketing Advantages For Contractors
There are thousands of contractors all over the United
States who know how to build new homes and remodel old ones. These
contractors understand construction law and the construction business,
but rarely do they understand marketing principles. I have known quite a
few contractors who do most of their business by referrals from other
homeowners. These homeowners will continue to recommend these
contractors, because they usually did a great job and made the
construction process enjoyable for the homeowner.
Very few contractors understand marketing principles and there are even
fewer who understand the power of Internet marketing. I once heard Bill
Gates, cofounder of Microsoft, say something that I will never forget.
He said," If you're not on the Internet, you're going to be out of
business within a few years." I remember him saying this about 10 years
ago. It got me thinking and if your company isn't on the Internet now,
you might not be out of business, but there is one thing that I can tell
you for sure, "You're losing business."
If you're happy with the amount of business that you have presently and
you don't have a website or Internet presence, then consider yourself
blessed. You're one of the few contractors who is either doing work for
extremely low prices, or you do extremely great work at reasonable
prices. However, I haven't met one of these contractors yet and I've
been in the construction business for over 30 years. Usually, more
leads, means more money to anyone in the construction business.
If you want more construction leads Internet marketing can be extremely
beneficial for your company. Let me give you an example of how many
referrals, just in the state of California alone, one online
construction referral service provided for their contractors. How does
34,000 construction leads in just one month sound. That's over 34,000
homeowners, contractors and anyone else, who is using the Internet, just
in the state of California alone. These construction referral companies
are expensive, but can definitely provide contractors with Internet
marketing advantages, especially if you don't have a website.
The Internet makes it easy to find reliable contractors and if you're
not on the Internet, you're losing business. I don't know how many times
I need to say this, but if you're interested in making more money, this
could provide you with a few more jobs each year.
If you don't have a website for your company, I would suggest that you
get one. It's relatively inexpensive and could provide your future
clients with a wealth of information about your business. If you do have
a website and you can't find it on any of the major search engines, and
do a little more research by reading more of our articles on business
and marketing.
