Hiring The Cheapest Contractor

Anyone who was ever hired the cheapest contractor, knows what I'm talking about. They don't even need to read this article or get a refresher's course on this topic. There probably some of the people who actually hired the cheapest contractor, only to pay the ultimate price later, after they started to suffer the consequences of dealing with these people. They seem to etch these memories and their minds, for ever.

I understand the financial situation of most homeowners and sympathize with them on this topic, however, I’m the person that they call, to come back and fix the problems from these types of contractors. I'm the person who gets to see the results of hiring the cheapest contractors, first-hand.

If you don't have enough money, and you've already got a few bids on your home repair or remodeling project, and there is more than 20% difference between the three bids, you could have a problem. If one contractor, gave you an estimate for $3000, another contractor gave you a price for $5,000 and another contractor gave you a price for $5,500, you should seriously consider getting rid of the contractor who gave you an estimate for $3000.

This contractor could take advantage of you in a few different ways. They did the job below to get it, and are going to charge you more money, for little things or little problems as the job progresses, until they can make up the difference, and actually make a profit on the job.

This isn't uncommon and most of the time, when you hire the cheapest contractor you get what you pay for. Again, I’m the one that most of these people call, to fix the mistakes, that were often made by inexperienced workers were contractors that weren't providing the proper materials. You would think, that this stuff doesn't happen anymore, because there are licensing boards, but you would be surprised at how many people, higher the cheapest person, and most of these people aren't even licensed, only to end up with problems later on down the road. You can take my advice or experience it firsthand, the choice is up to you.
