Carport Planning Advice In Extreme Temperatures
It's rare to find a home without a garage or at least a
carport. If you live in an area where the temperatures are extreme, I
would suggest that you build your self a nice carport or garage, for
protection from the elements.
To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, if you live in areas
where it snows or rains often, or you live in an area where temperatures
are often extremely high, it would be a good idea to have a carport that
you can park your car under.
I have seen cars that were exposed to extremely high temperatures, their
entire life and they look like they're 55 years old, but there are only
a few years old. I've seen the paint to start to flake off and lose its
new car finish. Car finishes or paint jobs that are exposed to high
temperatures, seem to suffer worse than those exposed to rain and snow.
Now what about areas where it rains often or it snows for at least three
months out of the year? I would suggest that you build a carport, to
protect yourself and your car, as you get in and out of your car on a
daily basis.
It wouldn't be a bad idea, to build a breezeway, from your front door to
your carport, to protect yourself, while it's raining or snowing.
There's nothing worse than getting into a dry car, but your soaking wet.
This might not bother some people, but as you get older, nuisances like
these become extremely irritating.
If you don't have a garage, carports are usually easy and relatively
inexpensive to build. This might be a good solution to a re-occurring
problem.
