Should I Build A Two Car Or Three Car Garage?
This question seems to be asked more often today than it
was 20 years ago. Should I build a two-car or three car garage? If
you've got the room on your property, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go
for the larger garage.
If you're building a home as an investment, I would say yes and never
even think twice about it. Even though you might not need a large
garage, this has become a good selling point and most real estate
professionals will back me up on this one. It almost seems like larger
is going to be better than smaller, unless you're talking about bacteria
or mold.
It seems like two-car garages are going to become a thing of the past as
more and more home builders recognize the demand for larger garages.
People often require additional space for storage, vehicles, boats,
recreational vehicles and the ever-growing demand for work shops.
If you're building a home for yourself and you aren't planning on
selling it. You might want to reconsider building the larger garage,
especially if you don't need the extra space. Sometimes finances are an
issue and if this is truly the case, I would suggest building the
smaller garage, but avoid building a single car garage if you can.
To sum things up here, if you've got the money to build the larger
garage, there's a good chance that you will get a larger return on your
investment when you do eventually sell the home. If you don't have the
room on your property, truly don't desire to have a larger garage,
aren't interested in real estate investing or simply don't want to spend
the money, you should build the smaller garage.
Sometimes using a little common sense, along with a little bit of
information can make your decisions a lot easier, especially when it
comes to building homes.
