The Best Home Remodeling Investment - Painting
If you're planning on selling your home, any professional
real estate agent will tell you that it needs to be clean and organized.
I can't think of anything that makes a home look wonderful, than a new
paint job. If you're planning on selling your home within the next five
years, it wouldn't be a bad idea to paint your home, because it's going
to provide you with an excellent home remodeling investment.
There's two reasons for this, one so that you can enjoy it for awhile
and two, so that you don't need to feel rushed, when it finally does
become time to sell the home. One of the worst things you can do when
painting a home, is to avoid making any necessary home repairs. Make
sure that you fix and repair any damaged wood, stucco, siding, fascia
board, interior walls and ceilings, trim, doors and windows.
You're probably thinking, why I would mention something like that. Isn't
that just common sense? Wouldn't anyone who's going to paint their home
make the necessary home repairs? Well, I wouldn't have written it in
this article, if they did.
You're not going to believe how many homes I go to, that have a nice new
layer of paint on them, large holes, cracks or other damage. Anyway,
let's get back to the value of painting your home as an excellent
remodeling investment. A nice paint job protects your home from the
weather, isn't that one of the best ways that you can protect one of
your largest investments.
Usually homes can be painted or under $1000, unless you plan on hiring a
professional. One of the best painters I ever knew, painted a 1500
square foot home for $1700 and this home looked beautiful when he was
done. If you have a $250,000 house and it only cost $2400 to paint it,
that's less than 1% the cost of the entire home.
These are the things that most homeowners forget about, until their home
is in desperate need of repairs. Don't let this happen to you, protect
your investment, by painting your home.
