Hiring Contractor Secrets You Need To Know - Cheap
One of the richest people in the world, John D.
Rockefeller was extremely frugal, but understood the importance of
hiring skilled professionals. Even someone who was as frugal as John D.
Rockefeller, wouldn't have hired the cheapest contractors and I'm going
to tell you why.
There is a big difference between cheap and valuable. The minute that
you understand and accept this, it can change your life forever. It
happened to me about 15 years ago, when I realized that being the
cheapest contractor wasn't providing valuable service to my clients.
Cheapest Isn't Always Best. Hiring the cheapest licensed contractor that
you can find, doesn't always work. Recently I gave someone an estimate
for some termite damage and they told me that they were going to use
another contractor, whose price was 50% lower than mine. It doesn't take
a rocket scientist to figure out, what's going to happen to this
homeowner. It's not like he's going to call me and tell me that things
didn't work out and he should have went with me. This kind of stuff just
doesn't happen that often.
I can't stress it enough and will continue to inform people all over the
world about the problems homeowners are having hiring the cheapest
contractors they can find. It's not getting better, it seems to be
getting worse. Today I drove by a strip mall where two men were mixing
cement about 3 feet in front of the main entrance to a convenience
store.
Could you imagine a small child playing around the cement mixer, while
her mom's in the store shopping? What about a customer who trips over
one of their tools in the parking lot? I could go on and on, but I'm not
going to. You need to seriously think about the next contractor you
hire, who's giving you the cheapest bid. They might not be providing you
with the most value, even though they're providing you with the lowest
price.
There is a big difference between the value and pricing.
